I am a firm believer in the fact that it doesn’t always matter what brand you buy, all that matters is the actual product and if it does what it says tin (And of course that it doesn’t have any negative effect on your skin.). Some products which are £100+ may not work at all and some which are about £3 may be your holy grail. I will share with yous my HG status Drugstore Products.
The NYX lip primer (£6) – I didn’t realise how important it was to wear a lip primer until I started wearing them. The difference is unbelievable, it helps to stop creasing and your lips look so much smoother and lip products stay on so much longer! I also find this one hydrates my lips, its so creamy. I used to use ‘MAC”s one but I now prefer the NYX one and its so much cheaper.
Make Up Revolution would definitely be one of my favourite drug store brands, so I will probably mention them a lot… (and I can’t wait to try their new amazing concealer!)
Make Up Revolution Liquid Lipsticks & Liners (£6 for their lip kits) – I absolutely love these liquid lipsticks and lip liners. I bought their lip kits in the shade, ‘Noble’, its my favourite colour, a nice subtle and warm nude. The liners are also very creamy and both of these products last all day! And of course I wear these products over my NYX lip primer. Here’s a picture of me wearing these lip products!
Maybelline’s Lash Sensational (8.99) & Colossal Big Shot mascara (7.99) – I constantly re-buy these mascaras, I absolutely love them, they work so well together too. The Lash Sensational is quite similar to Benefit’s Roller Lash as it curls and lengthens your lashes. Then the Colossal Big Shot gives the false lash effect as it provides lots of volume. I actually have been asked if I was wearing individual lashes when I wear both of them together. (Picture of them both on one eye below.)
Make Up Revolution’s Baked Bronzer in ‘Rock on World’ (£4) – This is a gorgeous shimmery bronzer, I wouldn’t apply a lot of this as its very very pigmented so I only pop a tiny bit on my brush and sweep it lightly over my cheeks. It gives such a luminous bronzey finish. The only downside is the packaging, my lid always breaks, so I just pop the product in a little plastic bag – but at that price, I really don’t mind. Here’s an old picture of it when the lid wasn’t broken…
Maybelline’s Gel Liner (£8.99) – My favourite liner out of all of the gel liners I’ve tried, high-end and drugstore. Like most gel liners, it dries out a bit, but that’s expected, to stop this from happening I pop in a little bit of argan oil, and it brings it back to its ‘just opened’ phase. You can also do this with any brow pomade products.
The Sleek Highlighting Kit (£9.99) – So much beautiful highlighting colours to choose from in this palette and they produce a beautiful finish. They are very pigmented too.
Maybelline’s Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation (£6.99) – Great foundation although I don’t use it very often as I mainly wear Bare Minerals foundation, but if I had to choose my favourite drugstore foundation this would be it, really nice finish and not too cakey.
And to finish off with a great finishing spray…
NYX Matte Setting Spray (£7) – Keeps your makeup on all day!
I hope yous enjoyed this & let me know if any of yous have tried any of these products and your thoughts on them! Bye bye X
